SURPRISE!!

Well...I was laying back on a chair on my decking, whilst getting some fresh air to help my flu disappear, when this beautiful, massive jet flew over.

At the time I was also fiddling with my camera and it's settings and was lucky enough to snap a few shots of it.

There were patches of very low cloud and it just seemed to come out of nowhere. A bit spooky, but majestic and very low flying.

This beautiful jet was circling our area as part of the Melbourne Cup 'activities'.

The quality of the photo is not as good as I would have liked, but I was caught 'off guard'.

Frog car seat covers

I am currently preparing my much loved frog car seat covers for sale on Ebay.

As I have replaced my car with a different one, I have no need for these gorgeous car seat covers anymore.

The set consists of

2 X bucket seat covers (covers headrests and high bucket seats)

1 X back (bench) seat cover

1 X back back rest cover (doesn't allow for fold down seats) and doesn't cover back headrests.

2 X floor mats (front)

2 X smaller floor mats (back).

Keep an eye out on Ebay Australia (about 1 weeks time) for them and my Ebay i.d. is lulukelly3 or alternatively put "Patty Cats" in the Ebay search bar and then click on other items to find the seat covers.

Please don't send me an email with an offer for them, as too many people have keenly sent me emails asking about them (where they can get a set). Thankyou for your consideration :)

I understand they are difficult to find in Australia at the moment and I will only post them within Australia or they will be available for pickup for a local (successful bidder).

Update (as of today 28th of September 2010)- these delightful frog car seat covers and matching mats are now for sale on Ebay Australia - for sale in Australia only.

2012 merchandise

If you visit my Cafe Press store, you will find a new design I have added to my collections, about the year 2012. My design is a 'play' on numbers, adding up to the number 23.

Now I know some people take these numbers seriously, and I am not disrespecting that, but if you take a look at the numbers 2012 and 666, each number in these numbers, added together gets the number 23. Interesting isn't it?

I hope you, if you have an alternative sense of humour, are optimistic about the future, are a left of centre thinker and have a curiosity about number combinations, then I think you will appreciate my new design.

Those of you who are really into the number 23, 666 or 2012 (or any other numbers) may like the design too.

Remember, you are the master of your own destiny.

Furballs' Fables - childrens' book

Furballs' Fables is a humorous childrens' book, whose characters include Furballs, the pyjama bag cat and his fellow pre-loved toys, such as Piggles (an unwanted piggy-bank who keeps losing his coin stopper); Prescilla, the diamond python and Murrie and Morrie, nervy and giggly twin African Meerkats, just to name a few.

Other characters include some 'real' animals and some humans.

Each semi-sequential chapter revolves around the adventures, mishaps, reunions, relationships and personalities of all of the characters.

In the beginning, the toys are discovered at a garage sale in an old wooden box, which up until then, had been relegated to a dusty attic and forgotten about.

Now that the toys have a chance at a sort of 'freedom', they become eager and nervous as to what their new home will be like.

I now have a shop on Cafe Press, where you can purchase products, such as homewares, clothing, bumper stickers, greeting cards, bags and more, all printed with the various illustrations you see on this site. As time goes on, the number of products in the shop will increase and vary in designs. I'm currently in the process of creating new pieces of artwork, including frogs (for all you frog-a-holics out there) and horses.

This is another of my pencil sketches. I enjoy drawing animals. Soon I'll be looking for horses to photograph and draw. Strangely enough, horses used to be my passion from the age of 3 till I was in my twenties, when I owned a couple and used to show them, but I haven't done many drawings of them.

This is another example of my 'drawings' done in the style of pointilism. Again a very time consuming piece. The symmetry of the muscles in the human body are really quite incredible - it's natures' 'art'.

The form of the human body has always fascinated me and is a subject I enjoyed studying at University many years ago. This piece was produced by using an extremely fine pointed ink pen. There are no lines drawn at all. Leonardo Davinci and Michaelangelo are among some of my favourite artists. Apart from pointilism, which is very time consuming, I enjoy painting nudes in ink-wash.

Birds are not usually my preferred subject for drawings, but these little birds are just beautiful. We have them visit our native garden sometimes and they are lovely to observe as they play around in the trees courting each other.

I've always loved Australian fauna. My father, who was a professional artist and an Architect, and I used to travel around our countryside photographing various subjects. I was always keen to photograph our native animals and create my drawings from them.

This pastel drawing of a tiger was done for my sons, who love tigers. I particularly enjoy aiming to have the eyes of my 'subjects' look as if they are 'following' you around the room.

This work is of a possum dubbed the "Bush Baby". It is one of my most favourite pieces of the pastel works I have done yet. Produced on an A4 sized paper. Pastel is one of my favourite mediums. Though it can be time consuming and somewhat finnicky, I always enjoy the results you can achieve with it.
